Dine @ Sköhns Canteen

A very good morning to all of you. Hope everyone enjoyed your last weekend. Mine was totally tiring, when my parents and I went to buy a door gift for my brother’s wedding this coming February 2014. Such a short period of time where you only have 22 more days to a new year and 16 more days to Christmas. Here you goes, am the one getting busy for his wedding not him. Well such an experienced and i hope to get busy for my younger sister’s reception too in future. All went well as planned and we will keep busy till the week of the reception. On Sunday, we bought Japanese satin for the whole family to wear on the reception itself, we gonna have a variety of gray. Can’t wait for the big day. My mum and dad gonna be the happiest person on earth even now. Then later in the evening, we went to this place called Sköhns Canteen. Sköhns Canteen is a Canteen-style cafe serving wholesome Malaysian food. They putthig together a menu consisting of a collection of family recipes of Western and Malaysian cuisine at affordable prices. Sköhns Canteen also served famous scones and cream along with other yummy desserts. My mum insisted to come here after she watched TV programmed called ‘Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan’ on TV3 that afternoon plus scones is her favorite. Before we reached the place, we hope the shop are really exists not like previous place that we try and search but it doesn’t exist anymore. ‘Jalan-Jalan Cari Makan’  sux! You should do your research and check whether the restaurant and the cafe that you are promoting still there or not. Because we go all the way to Puncak Alam just to go to that one restaurant to try their food, because we are hunger for a new restaurant and their food. What a shameful when the restaurant we looking for already turn into a Clinic. Such a waste of time and very disappointed with TV3. Thank god this Sköhns Canteen do exists. Lets try and view the place.

The Food – We had our early dinner there, a lasagna, a lamb chop, a jacket potato and their special dessert plain scones with jams. The food not so delicious not so bad. So its a medium taste for all of us. The drinks too, i had a plain coffee but they claimed a macchiato. Such a shame, you should know what macchiato contain with. Macchiato is a small simple drink of an espresso shot or double shot marked with a touch of delicious frothy milk. You don’t mess with a coffee lover here. Even my dad’s know what is macchiato. Am so pissed of with the coffee maker. After i complain, he just gave me a small cup of fresh milk. So i had milk coffee. what is this you fool?!Definitely am not coming back to this place again. No Thank you.

The Place – Look like a canteen just like the name Sköhns Canteen. They also have a kids corner and a dessert corner. The service also not so friendly and a little bit slow. A bad impression for a first timer.

The Price – Not so affordable. Our cost for all that was RM 62. What say you? I don’t think is a worth unless you just have their scones 😦 Their 2pcs plain scones are RM5, flavored scones cost you RM6 for 2pcs. Can’t denied the scones is really soft, tasty delicious but petite. Mummy’s love it.

Sorry for the bad experience. Thank you for the feedback and we’ll try to improve on everything.

We’re not a coffee shop so we don’t have a proper barista. Sorry again about that. Will improve on that too.

We try to be affordable but we do use NZ lamb for our lamb chops and Australian minced beef for our chili that goes on the jacket potato as well as the lasagna. So we can’t really compete on price with certain other shops.

Anyway, thanks again for the feedback.
