Hey there, hows your Monday going so far? I start with Monday blues, tired and restless..Well let me tell you where i brought my mum for Mothers Day last weekend. She love Asam Pedas so much, so i thought to bring here to this place call Zainab ๐ Sounds familiar? yeah, it’s freaking oldish name right, in fact it’s one of my aunty’s name. Hi Mak Lang!
Place – Okay speaking of oldish, this place really play the environment of having the very old Malay traditional type of concept, like “dolu-dolu”, our grandmas’s time. Their songs playing, their interior but a bit of modern concept too. They have all this dulang, and some other vintage stuff. Old pictures framed and hanged to make the feel of past time. They even used, chopping board for menu’s, and cetak kuih rose for the table number . You will see in my pictures below, very creative! This place is in PJ old town, Jalan Othman. You can easily see from the main road. Parking a bit tight, luckily i went there on weekend. But still not much parking. It’s a stretch of an old buildings.
Food – My mum tried Asam Pedas dory fish together with white rice and vege’s they called it acar. Mine was white rice with sup daging and also telur. So freaking delicious and the service is tip top. ย We ordered Goreng pisang cheese with caramel sauce (Banana Fritters with Cheese and Caramel Sauce), terbaik! For drinks, we shared less sweet Teh Tarik and one warm water for mother.
Priceย – Total up to RM26. The first set was my mum RM8.50, mine was RM8.50 too, the sweet banana fritters with cheese and caramel sauce was RM6, teh tarik was RM2.50. Quite worth it tho with this kind of environment and services. For sure to come again for their cakes. They said, they only ordered once a week, so if you wait till it weekend probably finished before that. Nice things is very limited. Grab yours soon!
