Failure Me

Merdeka is just a round the corner. And i didn’t even plan anything! What is wrong with you Fatin!? usually i’ll plan stuff before the days come. Things got so mess since i came back from Jakarta. I’ve been planned for a month, really looking forward to that Bali trip. Mentally physically prepared. And people keep asking me “hows Bali?” you freaking bastard am not went to Bali bloody hell! Cant you just read it here or maybe my instagram before you actually asking me directly?? tired of it. But too bad, not all your plans will make it. And this time is a failure. Bad planner. Thinking positively, GOD want me to stay away from Bali for awhile. What more, after i came back to office, got to find out i need to moved out to another office. And i might be transferred to another team for a better opportunity and future. Am not looking forward for that. Look, I’ve been in my comfort zone for such a long time. This is what happens once, people trying to moved you to different directions. And lately, so much work to do before we move out and preparing for new office till i didn’t realize that is going to be a public holiday on Monday due to Malaysia Independence Day and it’s my parents anniversary. Plus, my sister in law are going to give birth at anytime soon. I’ve planned for our printing shop opening day by next two weeks. But i think it’s going to be a failure again. So for now, i just going to follow the flow. Tired of planning things doesn’t work out.

Failure me.

Reaching New Limits: Why You Should Dare To Travel More Frequently

Truth or dare?

If you chose truth, let me ask you, are you living life to the fullest? Do you feel fulfilled?

If you were badass and chose dare, I dare you to step out of your comfort zone and live life to the fullest; go someplace you’ve never been and do something you’ve never done.

I just got back from the most amazing trip of my life, with two weeks spent in Thailand (and a pit stop in London).

Every time I come back from a trip, it inspires me to travel more and explore, but there was something extra special about this trip.

Perhaps, it was because I was the furthest away from home I’ve ever been, just about as far as I could go (literally, the other side of the world).

Maybe it was because it took 36 hours to get there; maybe it was because it was so foreign and I didn’t know the language, culture, cuisine, etc.

If I was a betting woman, I would say all of the above played a huge role in why this trip was so memorable. There is something so liberating about not only traveling in a place unknown, but also “making it.”

I left Thailand with a big heart, mind and soul.

I’ve said it once and I will say it a million more times: There is no better form of education than experience.

I’m not the most knowledgeable when it comes to world news, or so I thought, but it turns out, having been to six countries in the past three years has made me quite wise.

I learned firsthand about Greece’s economy, the relationship between Haiti and the Dominican Republic, witnessed the newly-appointed Pope hold mass and that the royal family is just a symbolic monarch.

Obviously, if I picked up a newspaper, these are things I would have heard of, but instead, I lived through them. The words on the paper came to life, so it actually made sense to me.

As a result of experiencing the above for myself, I was able to engage in intellectual conversation with a group of people from around the world whom I met on a boat ride in Thailand.

I have to admit, it was one of my proudest moments: to be able to hold my own in a conversation involving world affairs with a group of professionals from around the world while in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand.

So many people asked how I did it and my response was, “I just did it.” I requested the time off of work, spent my paychecks on airfare, not drinks, and spent my nights planning, not partying.

In simple terms, my priority was this trip.

If you are in a position to just pick up and leave for an extended amount of time, do it! Travel the world, educate yourself, create memories that will last a lifetime and set your eyes on places you thought only existed on Pinterest.

What are you going to do about money? You can easily get a job teaching English in damn near every country.

Afraid to go by yourself? There are several traveling tour groups.

If you are not in a position to leave for an extended amount of time, make the most of the time you do have and travel some place you have never been; it doesn’t even have to be another country.

There really is no excuse as to why you can’t, so don’t get in your own way. Like I said, it’s simple: Just do it.

Life is too short and the world is too big to be comfortable and not explore. You would be doing yourself a disservice by not putting yourself out there and seeing at least some of the great wonders of this big, beautiful world of ours.

I promise you, the parties, people and things will all still be there when you get back.

Now go out there and LIVE!

Thank you Jacqueline Solivan on Elite Daily 🙂

Like I’m Gonna Lose You

I found myself dreaming
In silver and gold
Like a scene from a movie
That every broken heart knows we were walking on moonlight
And you pulled me close
Split second and you disappeared and then I was all alone

I woke up in tears
With you by my side
A breath of relief
And I realized
No, we’re not promised tomorrow

So I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna hold you
Like I’m saying goodbye wherever we’re standing
I won’t take you for granted ’cause we’ll never know when
When we’ll run out of time so I’m gonna love you
Like I’m gonna lose you
I’m gonna love you like I’m gonna lose you

In the blink of an eye
Just a whisper of smoke
You could lose everything
The truth is you never know

So I’ll kiss you longer baby
Any chance that I get
I’ll make the most of the minutes and love with no regrets

Let’s take our time
To say what we want
Use what we got
Before it’s all gone
‘Cause no, we’re not promised tomorrow

Coffee @ Coffeezzo

Good Morning Monday!

Hows your weekend peeps?been great? I wanna share with you guys my coffee session with my best buddy Ain Radhi last Friday night. It’s been awhile i didn’t see her since fasting month. It’s quite hard to see her now days since she stay’s in Kuantan. But never mind girlfriend, we can always make a time for each other. So we decided not to go so far away from my home. As usual, coffee is the main point.

Place – Coffeezzo in USJ21, Subang Jaya. A glass shop by the corner, just beside Main Place, you can see this shop from highway to Putra Heights and Puchong on your left. The first coffee shop opened in that area was Oh Scooter Cafe, i review it once, not long time ago. You can just search it the search tab on the right top of the corner. So this place is very new, the kitchen still close under renovation. They have no signboard yet and they are hiring a barista! Go check it out now!

Coffee – They served several of coffee. As usual, i had my flat white. It taste good and for Ain she had ice hazelnut coffee. We even had Tiramisu in a cup and a sliced of choco caramel banana cake. Everything taste so good over a catching up session with nice looking environment. Peace and quiet.

Price – Total for all RM43 with no GST or even service tax which is good. Thank you also to the friendly barista and the cashier. They are so nice in terms of communicating with the customer, they even talked to us when they have to closed the shop at 10pm but still asked us to stay still until they finished washing and closing. Thank you and great job!

Vacay : The Unplanned Jakarta

Good Morning, thank GOD its Friday!

I think its kinda short week for me. Weekend again and i can’t believed it’s been a week since we went to Jakarta. So this time let me tell you how’s our unplanned trip to Jakarta been.

After we confirmed that we going to take the evening flight to Jakarta, we only have 2 – 3 hours to get ready for it. Need to rush back and get our luggage from the canceled flight and need to checked in again for the next flight. Tiring and exhausted. While we waited for our flight, we went googling and research about Jakarta. Where to go? which part of Jakarta we going to stay? the nightlife? where to shop? where to dine? and others. Everything keep running on our mind.

So we booked hotel from Booking.com where that’s the best place to look for hotel. We booked Ibis Budget Hotel in Cikini, Jakarta. It’s in central Jakarta. Once we landed, the time is one hour earlier, so we straight away look for a taxi to reach our destination. It’s quite traffic everywhere. My dad did mentioned to look for Blue Bird Taxi, due to the best rate. But the taxi stand full with local and foreigner that’s been ques for maybe an hour. It’s long freaking ques. Okay never mind, we looked for others, so we found Diamond taxi. They using our local national car Proton Saga. They said it depend on the meter. He charged us IDR 300, 000.000 from Jakarta Airport to our Hotel in Cikini. We thought that’s cheap, but when we take taxi from our hotel to Airport on the day home, they only charged us IDR 150, 000.00 that’s quite a different! So folks, if you plan to go round the city, please take Blue Bird Taxi, it’s blue freaking Toyota Vios. Or to go cheap and to feel like local, please go for Bajai. The blue small ride like in India.

And our hotel is freaking good, with Grand Canyon cafe, hipster coffee shop called AH stand for American Hamburger, sushi restaurant, middle east food restaurant, Indonesian food restaurant definitely, small convenience shop, spa & massage boutique, public swimming pool, all in the same building and huge 7 Eleven just across the busy road. At our right hand side, where the states library and Cikini square located.

We had almost all of our meal just at all restaurant there. We don’t know where to go. And of course we not going for the hawker stalls along the road. First dinner at Grand Canyon cafe, breakfast we just grab something from 7 Eleven and coffee from Grand Canyon and than lunch at Thamrin City mall, dinner at hipster cafe downstairs where we celebrate July babies that we supposed to celebrate at sky garden in Bali. Sad. Poor thing, they only have the number 8 with no number 2 candle. So happy 8th Fatin and Era! And our last lunch on the day we flying off at the Indonesian food restaurant I mentioned. All the food not really good. We can find better than this in Malaysia. But my coffee at Grand Canyon was good. We even went for Starbucks too.

The second day, we went to Thamrin City, where they are known as the place for souvenirs. What we found was just batik, batik and batik. And other clothes, handbags and shoes. We also went the next door, Grand Indonesia Shopping Town. Huge is like they have all this East, West, South entrance. And like always we do site visit to Starbucks 😀 So at night after we done with massage and dinner, we go round town with Bajai. We went to Monas. Monas is the National Monument (Monumen Nasional, abbreviated Monas) is a 132 m (433ft) tower in the centre of Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta, symbolizing the fight for Indonesia. It is the national monument of the Republic of Indonesia, built to commemorate the struggle of Indonesian independence. Construction began in 1961 under the direction of President Soekarno. Monas was opened to the public in 1975. It is topped by a flame covered with gold foil. Gold foil people! Am a gold digger! LOL

As a wrap up, Jakarta is a huge city center that you need a few days and weeks and months to go round. We went there just over the weekend, such a waste. Population in here totally more than Malaysia and all catered in this several states. Overall i can sum up is “macet dong!” everywhere you go is traffic. So if you wanna go to somewhere you have to plan your journey earlier. And what transportation you need to go with. Freaking bad traffic and a lot, a lot of people! But they are nice and friendly! I might go another round to Jakarta to shop, this time maybe a nightmare because we mentally and physically prepared for Bali. So is not a good time for us. All I can say is I’ve been there!

Thank you to my travel partner Era and kak Zett for the awesome weekend. Plan for Bali next time and make it real!

Enjoy weekend everyone 🙂

A nightmare birthday escape

Hi everyone, its been a few weeks i didn’t post things in here. Just feel like to be away but i need to tell you this. I went to Jakarta last weekend and it’s unplanned. First, let me acknowledge you, we planned to go Bali but end up in Jakarta. Why? A story about to tell here. Me and my two friends has been planned this like a month before. We bought flight tickets for 3 with Malaysia Airlines. So prod to fly with MAS but something pop up! two freaking hours before we departed, they informed us with text massage at one of my friend saying the flight been canceled with out mentioned reason why and we decided to straight away to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport). So they said, due to volcanic ashes on the main Java Island. So Bali airport closed temporary. Than, MAS send us to near by hotel in Sepang. We stranded there for one night. What on earth am doing there since i can just go back and wait for the news. But they advised us to be there on standby. Till around 10pm, hotel didn’t know the status until we called MAS itself, they told us our flight will be at 10am tomorrow. Good! We are prepared for that. And there you go our Thursday. Burn into ashes like the Mount Raung ashes.

Friday, a new beginning. We hope and excited for Bali this time. And after checked in our luggage, they canceled our flight again. Perfect! So they give us meal voucher for lunch this time at any restaurants worth RM20. Owh come on, you can’t buy us one night stay and a lunch meal just to replace our trip. And they confirmed after 2pm there will be no flight on that day. Only on Saturday they will be flying. We bought return tickets, from Thursday and came back on Sunday. This is not gonna happened. All passengers start to gathered at the MAS counter. Just imagine, you canceled yesterday’s flight and today’s flight and you only opened 2 counter? Please be a little bit relevant MAS. This is so embarrassing. As a Malaysian myself, am not proud to have this as my airlines. I’ve been flying with MAS all the time. And this is the worst ever case i had been to. They should think the emergency cases like this could happen anytime and be prepared or at least alert what to do next. Ridiculous. You’ve known among the tourist, your name is big among the world. World class and very established. You can’t be this bad MAS. Shame on you.

They finally decided to re-route us to Jakarta. The tickets cheaper than Bali. Is either you canceled, got nothing or re-route to other places than Jakarta, have to top-up more and pay penalty, or to Jakarta city with no pay. We decided to go Jakarta city rather than canceled. That’s the only best options they can offer. We did check the flight from Jakarta to Bali, who knows they will be a local flight, but too bad all fully booked. We try our best not to came out with a plan that is wasting money and time. We asked them for refund, and open ticket so we can go next time, but nothing coming up with it. It is really bad experienced with our local airlines. At least they came up with a plan to transfer us with other flight, that will be good enough.

So we left Malaysia Airport on Friday evening and came back on Sunday.

I really hope Malaysia Airlines can improve their services in the future. No matter what the reason is, no matter how big is the problem, keep your customer/passenger in the loop and kindly solved problems as soon as possible. Of course you guys have been trained if this happen out of sudden right. Tourist, foreigner or even your own local people cannot accept what you are doing and how you solved emergency cases. Please keep this in mind, with out your passenger that buying your ticket seats, you have no business at all.

Thank you Malaysia Airlines for making my birthday escape a nightmare.

(p/s : i waste my money, i waste my work leave, and i waste so much of my time)
